Name: Ritchie Bartleby Coote
Nickname[s]: Rich
Age: 25
DOB: October 22, 1981

Place of Birth: Cardiff, Wales
Current Residence: London, England

House: Gryffindor
Bloodline: Half-blood
Left/Right/Ambi: Right
Spirituality/Religion: Spiritual - Nature based
Allegiance: Whoever isn't out to kill him really.

Height: 6'

Weight: 135 lbs

Hair/Eye color: Dark brown / Green

Sense of Style: In school, Ritchie was always known as having the best dragon skin cloaks around and wearing some of the most expensive sort of clothes there were. However, if one of his schoolmates were to see him now, in his dingy, ripped jeans and everyday t-shirts, they would certainly go wide-eyed at him.

Posture: Ritchie was taught to stand up tall and sit up straight. At various Pureblooded dinners and banquets, he was required to look and play the part of a well-behaved, decent Pureblooded boy, nevermind that he was a ragtag half-breed in real life.

Best feature: Hair

Other: An interesting feature about Ritchie is that ever since he was young, he always seemed to have this rather deep voice about him. Even upon starting school, he tended to sound far deeper than the other boys in his year and perhaps even some older than he was. His mother joked that it was a good thing. "Girls fancy a bloke with a deep, manly voice." Ritchie never paid her much attention.

Family:

Mother : Summer Coote (deceased)
Father : Richard Coote (deceased)

Uncle : Elliot Sadler (muggle)

Family History: Summer Sadler enjoyed flowers. Her parents often had to pry her away from the gardens late in the evenings to wash up for supper, because she tended to lose track of time while tending to her flowers. She had a green thumb of sorts, though it was more of a hobby than anything else. She lived a fairly normal, middle class life, and nothing too extraordinary ever really happened, save the usual cat getting stuck up in a tree. Though little did she know that her life was about to change drastically from one day to the next. It started off as a normal day with Summer going to visit her older brother at University. And when she returned home with her brother escorting her, she realised her home was gone. There had been a terrible fire, and both her parents died.

In his own little way, Richard Coote's life was much like Summer's. Although not coming from a particularly wealthy Pureblooded family, life was still humdrum. Sure, he went to school, but much like Pureblooded children of the time, things at school were pretty much the same at home. Of course, he learned a great deal, but nothing too magnificent ever happened to him. In fact, nothing too magnificent would ever happen to him while at school. No. His life would take its own drastic turn toward the magnificent... the day he met her.

What he was doing in Muggle London that day, he would never know. He just felt the need to leave all that he knew and take a stroll into a world he knew nothing about. As if getting odd looks wasn't enough, he was also noticing that some people even had to hide their laughter from him as he passed by. Call it fate, if you will, but at the exact moment he decided to turn around and go back to the world he knew only too well, he ran into her. Literally. She'd been out for a jog and wasn't expecting him to turn so suddenly, as if he was dying to break free of those awkward stares. And from the floor, she too gave him an awkward glance, which later turned into a grateful one when he helped her back on her feet.

They looked into each other eyes and realised that getting to know each other would be a great puzzle, one that neither of them would probably ever figure out completely. But introductions came and went, and the rest was history. The pair of them got to talking and agreed to meet again, though not by accident this time. And they not only met again, but several more times afterward. And they weren't exactly sure how it happened, but eventually they grew to really like each other. Summer, who had always wanted to live an extraordinary life, and Richard, who had always wanted to break free of his monotonous world, found solace in each other. And much to Richard's family's chagrin, the pair secretly married and had a son. They named him Ritchie.

Hogwarts History: In school, Ritchie was always pleasantly quiet, traveling swiftly behind his boisterous best friend, Andy Kirke. Andy really was loud enough for the both of them, which was just fine with Ritchie. He preferred to hang back and just watch Andy pull off crazy, hilarious stunts. Ritchie was never that hyper, though he managed to keep his jittery friend in balance. Ritchie wasn't ever much into Astronomy or the cycles of the moon. However, he was always exposed to it, again because of his best friend's seeming obsession with the stars. While in school, Ritchie figured this was a great way to just get by in Astronomy, by copying Andy's notes and such. Later on in life, this information would prove somewhat invaluable to him.

Due to Andy's persuasion, Ritchie tried out for the Gryffindor Quidditch team and managed to secure a spot as one of the team's Beaters, along side Andy himself. It was a rather exhilarating year, as Ritchie had to push himself physically and mentally in order to succeed at playing decently for the team while at the same time maintaining his scores in school. He wasn't ever the smartest nor was he at the bottom of his year, though Ritchie hung suspended in the Average range, achieving scores just good enough for him to pass year after year.

However, Ritchie's life was never all that perfect. Sure, he was rather good-looking, securing the admiring glances of several girls throughout his lifetime, but his life at home was rather tumultuous. This was the truth that he knew. His father owned a particularly successful business in Knockturn Alley. It was somewhat of a pawn shop, not necessarily for dark objects (or so Ritchie was led to believe at first), but of such objects that were lower in quality of those that may have been sold in Diagon Alley. Thus, his shop was kept at the very corner of Diagon and Knockturn, catering to both sides of the wizarding world. Due to this business, the Coote's did have quite a bit of wealth. They lived in a large estate with a few House Elves and luxurious gardens. This was not the problem.

The problem was..... his mother was a Muggle.

Summer held a job as a primary school teacher in order to busy herself during the day as her husband worked in the shop. It was quite unnecessary, as they didn't need the monetary aid. However, Summer, who was unable to bear any more children after Ritchie, greatly enjoyed the company of children as well as the distraction it provided from her husband's actual business dealings. They often had arguments about it, though they were careful to keep their voices down while in front of Ritchie. They figured he need not worry about what his father really was doing behind the scenes. Richard Coote was a Death Eater.

It had started out as a way to protect his family, having known quite a few Death Eaters from his Pureblood heritage. Richard didn't particularly believe in the ideals of Lord Voldemort, though if he wanted to protect his family, he would have to join them and assimilate as best as possible into their regimen. However, this plan seemed to backfire on Richard numerous times. When Ritchie was only 12, his mother mysteriously passed away. It was all played out as if she had died from some strange Muggle disease, and no one was all the wiser to the betrayal that was actually coming upon the Coote family.

That ultimate betrayal came one day during the Christmas hols in his 6th year as Ritchie was walking out of the Quality Quidditch Supplies store in Diagon Alley just as the store was about to close. It was a bit late at night to be shopping, but it had just occurred to Ritchie that he needed some cleaning supplies for his broom. He had been at his father's store when the thought came to him, and he told his father he would be right back. Never having the need to fear for his safety, Ritchie was strolling through the Alley toward his father's shop when he was attacked and bitten by a werewolf. No more would Richard trust his supposed Death Eater allies. No more.

Ritchie never returned to school after that. He was unable to finish his studies nor was he able to take his NEWTs. How could he after all he suffered? His father finally revealed to him all his secrets. That he had been a Death Eater for years. That he was trying to protect the family. That they had betrayed him by allowing his only son to be hurt and nearly killed, instead turned into a werewolf which was probably worse than death. That he was finally piecing together the Death Eater's plan to destroy their family. That they were the cause of his wife's death. Ritchie was absolutely appalled but no more appalled as when he received the news that his father had died during the battle of Hogwarts. He too had betrayed the Death Eaters as they had betrayed him in order to avenge the murder of his wife and the turning of his son into a werewolf.

Occupation History: Ritchie never considered himself to be brilliant, though he did admit he had his fair share of brilliant moments from time to time. Brilliant moment number one came when he immediately sold his father's shop quickly after the passing of his father. He stowed away his parents' fortunes into a vault in Gringotts, vowing to only use it if he desperately needed it. He completely cut off all ties with his old life, which regretfully meant he would have to end his six year friendship with his one and only best friend, Andy Kirke. However, he knew he couldn't stick around being a werewolf with so many people thinking his father was actually a supporter of the Dark Lord.

He called upon his uncle Elliot, Summer's brother, and asked to move in with him. Elliot, like his sister, was a Muggle and was never told about his sister's husband's amazing abilities with magic. Of course, Ritchie knew this and had to make sure his uncle Elliot never learned that Ritchie too was a wizard, not to mention a werewolf. He took a small job as a server in a Muggle diner in order to help with the rent as well as to keep his cover from his uncle. Ritchie, having lived in a world where House Elves always served him all his meals, had to sort of start all over again, learning to do everything for himself. Add to that the fact that he constantly has to keep his true self concealed from his uncle (which means no magic), and Ritchie certainly has his work cut out for him.

Personality: Ritchie can be described as a fairly quiet, reserved, introspective sort of boy. In school, he may have seemed a bit pompous, though not about his skills or his intelligence. It was all mainly due to his looks. Girls liked to stare at him, and he did have a few on-again, off-again girlfriends during his school years. Nothing major. Maybe two weeks at most. He used his looks to get things out of people, mainly out of girls and mainly information about a certain crush or so. It was very rare for him to use his looks for evil-doings, though his slightly mischievous side would occasionally rear its ugly head.

He was never brilliant, but he did well enough to get by. And while he was athletic, his Quidditch abilities weren't spectacular either, just enough to allow the team to win a few matches here and there. He loved the game and the thrill of calculating what each Bludger would do after he would hit it. He has a bit of a mathematical mind in that sense, making him a good asset for the Gryffindor Quidditch team while he was at Hogwarts. He was decidedly a better athlete than a student, though he figured that was mostly because he preferred to be out on the Pitch hitting Bludgers instead of in the classroom reading books. He was always a more outdoorsy type of person.

However, there are two sides to Ritchie, one which recently appeared, no doubt a direct result of his bite. While normally, he's quite the calm gent, during the week of the full moon, he can get rather jittery, as if a war was raging inside of him. He tends to grow increasingly paranoid, and anxiety plagues him for several days until the night of the full moon, where he takes his little potion and attempts to sleep it off while playing some Boys II Men tunes. He finds that usually calms him down. The reason for his anxiety is that he's afraid he'll hurt someone when transformed, and that is certainly not something he wants, especially since he won't remember it in the morning. Usually, he'll buy some Wolfsbane potion, but if has enough time before Elliot gets home, he'll brew it himself.

Ritchie isn't exactly the most sociable being on the planet, though he's pleasant enough. He's still slow to anger despite the werewolf now living inside him and can generally be extremely patient with people. Perhaps not as patient as he was in the past before being bitten, but it's still considerably better than most people. He doesn't like getting into arguments, though he has no problem defending himself with a wand if he feels threatened. He prefers to be more of a follower than a leader, though can take a leadership role when it is requested of him.

Likes: Quidditch, R&B music, Potions, meat, nature and just generally being outside
Dislikes: The full moon, Transfiguration, loud noises, water (as in bodies of water such as lakes and the ocean)

Boggart: Hurting his friends.
